In Thailand, a group of six adorable baby elephants were recently rescued from a muddy pit after spending an entire night stuck there. The Thap Lan National Park officials discovered the trapped animals on March 27 while they were patrolling the area to prevent poaching. To avoid disturbing the remaining members of the elephant herd, who were apparently circling the pit, the park rangers decided to wait and see if the babies could free themselves. Fortunately, after some time, the clever little elephants managed to climb out of the mud pit all by themselves, much to the relief of everyone involved.

The rangers noticed that the elephant herd was nearby and chose to wait and watch to see if the adult elephants would come back for their stranded babies. After realizing that help wasn’t coming, they took action and rescued the trapped baby elephants.
During the night, a team of rangers kept watch near the pit, while another group went to get the tools needed. Their goal was to dig a pathway that would allow the young elephants to climb out and be free once again.
The rangers watched nearby as one side of the pit was dug out, waiting to see if the elephants could free themselves. However, it quickly became clear that the young elephants were struggling and needed help. One group of rangers stayed close to the animals to provide protection and encouragement, while another group went to find more assistance.
